The Apple Tree School is committed to providing a school experience which will enhance the quality of each child's life by being sensitive to individual needs and providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences. The Apple Tree School will provide opportunities for children to reach their highest potential, develop a positive attitude of self and acquire a value system that manifests itself throughout the child's life.
 
 

We provide a comprehensive kindergarten program which includes:

  • Reading: Houghton Mifflin Reading, McCracken Whole Language, beginning spelling, journal writing
  • Math: Identify shapes, recognize numerals 0-100, add sums through 10, subtract from 10, tell time by the hour and half hour, identify penny, nickel and dime
  • Science: Awareness of five senses, basic ecology, basic weather, insects, Space, etc.
  • Social Studies: Families, community, geography, USA, state, city
  • Writing: D'Nealian handwriting
  • Computer Enrichment: Computer use for learning reading, math and cognitive skills
  • Spanish: Simple sentences, nouns, verbs
  • Music: Songs, rhymes, grouping, singing
